In July 2001, at The Dial Gallery in Warkworth, Northumberland UK, I held my very first exhibition of new work. It was the beginning of a long overdue career as a painter of landscapes. This little painting said everything about my work, over thirty other works were shown at the exhibition but none meant so much for myself as this one. Measuring about 25 x 23 cm, titled ‘Before Rain’, it was the catalyst for many more paintings, there were others similar in context and form but none the same. It’s raining heavy now.
