Old School Gallery, Alnmouth

Here are some new works just delivered for The Old School Gallery in AlnmouthNorthumberland.

These four monotypes are of the river Coquet where I occassionaly fished for salmon. Some are named after the pools where the salmon would lie in wait before running upstream to spawn in the Autumn. I spent more time admiring the scenery and wildlife that catching anything.

Often, whilst waiting for dusk at the spy hole pool, roe deer would come to the waters edge for a drink, sometimes they would cross the river right in front of me, it was sight to behold and something I have never forgotten. Nature is truly wonderful.

Alnmouth is a lovely quiet coastal village steeped in history, one of my favourite locations for painting the coast and anything to do with boats and water. There are some beautiful beaches and the whole area is well worth a visit whatever the season.
